Maryland Updates

Our MD delegation for AAHAM’s Annual Legislative Day encompassed fifteen (15) of our members who enjoyed pre-scheduled meetings with our Congressional offices. The day wrapped up with a dialogue between AAHAM’s President Lori Sickelbaugh, CRCE and Rohit Chopra, the Director of the Con-sumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB).

“There is important common ground between AAHAM members’ top priorities and those of the CFPB related to medical debt. AAHAM members are dedicated to finding alternatives for engaging with patients to help them resolve unpaid medical bills, obtain financial assistance, or complete steps necessary to qualify for available third-party sources of reimbursement for medical services” said President Sickelbaugh. “We appreciated the opportunity of an open dialogue with the Director, including the audience question and answer period,” Sickelbaugh said.
