MD AAHAM Membership

We appreciate your interest in membership of the Maryland Chapter of the American Association of Healthcare Administrative Management (AAHAM). Our Chapter offers year-long support for our peers and professional associates in the healthcare industry. This association helps support all of us in needing to meet our ongoing professional challenges.

Membership Eligibility:  Eligibility for membership shall be consistent with the ethical standards and requirements of the National Organization.

Membership Fees:  The Fee to become a Maryland (Chapter 13) State member is $40.00.   Membership is on an individual, not institutional, basis and is non-transferable. 

If you join anytime prior to October 1, membership will become effective that calendar year.  If you join after September 30, membership will become effective the remainder of the year and the following calendar year.   

Note: The Board of Directors shall establish the amount of annual dues for National, Student and Retired members. The local chapter shall establish Associate/Local member dues.


MEMBERSHIP TYPES:

Associate/Local Members: Associate Membership provides local chapter membership and a limited affiliation with the National Organization. Associate Members are ineligible for any of the benefits or services entitled to National Members i.e. cannot vote on National AAHAM matters, serve as a proxy for a chapter president at any National Board meeting, or in any other official capacity.

Student Members:  A Student Member shall be an individual who, at the time of applying for membership and at all times during his or her student membership period, meets the qualifications of his or her learning institution for full time student status, but in no case shall he or she carry less than the yearly equivalent of twelve (12) credits or units. Student Members are entitled to all the benefits of a National member, with the exception of voting, professional certifications (CRCE, CRCP, CRCS, CRIP, CCT), to serve as a proxy for a chapter president at any National Board meeting, and/or member scholarship program.

Retired Members:  National members, retired from healthcare, are entitled to full National member benefits except for voting privileges.  For more information, please contact National's Membership Chair.

Meeting presentations and conferences address challenges for administrative management in both physician practices and facilities. Meetings and conferences offer opportunities to share and network with peers and business associates. Our chapter has also participated with joint meetings involving neighboring chapters and HFMA, and look forward to continuing this tradition.
